Welcome to 2025: Building a Brighter Future with the Patient Advocate Program
As we step into the new year, we’re buzzing with excitement and big dreams! At the Patient Advocate Program, we’re gearing up to make waves in the dental healthcare community, with one goal in mind: making smiles brighter and lives easier. The journey here has been personal, challenging, and deeply rewarding—and it all started with my father.
A Personal Story: My Dad, My Inspiration
Picture this: you’re juggling work, parenthood, and life’s endless surprises. Now add caring for a disabled parent to the mix. That’s my life in a nutshell. My dad, who is permanently disabled and wheelchair-bound, has shown me just how tangled the healthcare web can be. A simple dental cleaning? Not so simple.
Here’s the drill (pun intended):
Decode his HMO plan—not exactly light reading.
Confirm the dentist still accepts the insurance (spoiler: they don’t always).
Double-check the office’s wheelchair accessibility—because comfort matters.
Coordinate care for my young daughter.
Shuffle my work schedule like a pro.
Get to the appointment, only to hear, “He needs to come back for treatment.”
Brace for oral surgery at a hospital, pending medical clearance, of course.
And this is just for one appointment. It’s a vicious cycle of phone calls, emails, and planning that makes you feel like you’re running a marathon… uphill… in the rain. Sound familiar? If you’re a caretaker, you’re probably nodding along. This exhausting experience is what inspired me to create the Patient Advocate Program—because there has to be a better way.

Who We Are
We’re the problem-solvers, the bridge-builders, and the hand-holders. The Patient Advocate Program is a nonprofit organization that helps patients navigate the often-overwhelming dental healthcare system. From seniors and individuals with disabilities to children and sleep medicine patients, we’re here for everyone.
